Google releases Android 14 QPR1 Beta 2.1 with some New Feature

Google started testing the first Android 14 based Pixel Feature Drop update a few days ahead of the stable Android 14 release. And today, Google released an incremental QPR beta update to fix some known issues. Read on to know more about the Android 14 QPR1 Beta 2.1 update.

Android 14 was recently released with many features. But there are some Android 14 features that haven’t come to Pixel phones yet. And these features will be available for Pixel phones in upcoming Pixel feature drops, which should also bring the AI wallpapers feature to other Pixel devices as well. The next big Pixel feature drop update is expected to be available later this year.

Android 14 QPR1 Beta 2.1 come with build number U1B2.230922.010. The new update comes with October security patch just like the Beta 2 update. Today’s QPR beta update is a small incremental beta with only few bug fixes. It doesn’t bring any new features of big changes. But if you were having any issues with beta 2, the new update should fix the issue. Here’s the changelog.

  • Fixed issues with biometric authentication, such as an issue that sometimes prevented the under-display fingerprint sensor from activating while always-on display features were enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where, in some cases after swapping SIM cards on a device, the device couldn’t connect to cellular service.
  • Fixed various issues that were impacting system stability and performance.

The minor Android 14 QPR1 beta is available for eligible Pixel phones running the previous Android 14 QPR beta. Yes, you can join the beta program if you are on the stable Android 14 build. Go to Settings > System > System Update to check for updates.
