OnePlus Open debuts with dual LTPO displays and Hasselblad cameras

OnePlus Open is finally available. The company unveiled its first foldable phone at a global event in Mumbai, India today. The leaks and rumors leading up to today’s launch left nothing to be desired when it comes to the device. It’s worth noting that OnePlus Open is to global markets what OPPO’s Find N3 (also announced today) is to the Chinese market. In short, they are the same two devices.

The OnePlus Open is a compact, wallet-sized foldable phone from the start. It features a square design with a three-level alert slider on the left side. There’s a large, round, protruding camera module on the back. OnePlus has equipped the hinge of its foldable phone with aerospace-grade materials. It is claimed to last 10 years with a rating of 1,000,000.In addition, the flexibility of the device is hardly noticeable.

As for the display, the OnePlus Open has a 6.3-inch external screen and a 7.82-inch internal screen. Both displays feature an LTPO AMOLED panel with 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2,800 nits peak brightness.The outer screen is coated with Ceramic Guard, which is said to be 20% more impact resistant than Gorilla Glass screen protectors. The internal display, meanwhile, is equipped with ultra-thin glass. OnePlus Open has three speakers with Dolby Atmos technology.

In the photo department: Triple rear camera OnePlus Open from Hasselblad. The set includes 1/1.43-inch Sony LYTIA-T808 48MP primary pixel sensor, 48MP ultra-wide angle lens and 64MP third periscope telephoto lens with 6x optical zoom. The outer and inner displays feature 20MP and 32MP sensors respectively, housed in a notch for selfies and video calls.

Under the hood, the OnePlus Open houses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It has up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512TB of UFS 4.0 storage.The foldable phone is powered by a 4,800mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging. On the software side, OxygenOS 14 runs on Android 14. Four years of operating system updates and five years of security patches are guaranteed.

OnePlus Open is equipped with Wi-Fi 7, dual 5G module, X-axis linear motor, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C port, NFC, etc.
